With the new update, the 60-second Instagram story will no longer turn into several different clips.

In its recent update, Instagram released the ability to share longer stories. With this feature, stories that are up to 60 seconds will not be divided into several parts.

The new change to Stories was tested last year for a select number of users and is now available to all Instagram users.

A Meta spokesperson wrote in an email to TechCrunch:

We’re always working on ways to improve the Stories experience. Now you can continuously create and publish stories of up to 60 seconds.

The new change is likely to be liked by all users and visitors. With this change, users will be able to post consecutive stories that are not divided into multiple clips. Viewers no longer have to repeatedly tap the screen to view all stories.

Of course, this change may discourage users who enjoy the simplicity and brevity of stories. Instagram’s new feature somewhat blurs the line between Stories and Reels videos, as users now have two options for posting a 60-second video.

Instagram has recently announced that it is increasing its focus on videos. Instagram social network increased the time limits of videos. A few months ago, the company introduced support for longer Reels videos (up to 90 seconds) to its users. In the past, Reels videos were limited to 60 seconds.

Instagram recently made another change to its system whereby all new video posts that are shorter than 15 minutes will be displayed as Reels.
